Choose a visual style
Set the look of your project and understand how references affect the result.
Reviewed
A visual style sets how a video looks: the medium, the colors, the lighting, and the level of detail. A saved character sets who appears. Use both for a series with a consistent look and cast.
Styles guide the result. They do not make every image identical. Review the output when you change the style or reuse a character in another universe.
Choose a saved style
- Open Visual Styles. The library has styles you made, featured styles, and styles you saved.
- Open a style to see its description and reference images before you use it.
- On the creation screen, pick from the styles that universe allows. Some universes have a fixed style or a short list. If you need other defaults, create your own universe.
- For a series, pick one style and keep it. Let AI decide per story lets the look change between stories. It is useful when the subject should set the look, but it is not a fixed style.
Create a style
Open Visual Styles and select Create Style. The dialog has three steps:
- Describe: name the style and describe the look in plain words: the medium, the colors, the lighting, the texture.
- Confirm phrase: read the short style phrase. It should describe a look, not a scene or a character.
- Add references: upload images, generate images, or both. Select the images you want to keep, then save.
Tips:
- You need at least one selected reference image to save. An image in the dialog is not selected until you pick it.
- Use references that agree with each other. A set of soft watercolor images gives a clearer direction than a mix of photos, flat icons, and pencil drawings.
- Include faces, places, and objects like the ones in your work, so you can see how the style treats them.
Make the words and the images agree
- Both your description and your reference images guide the result.
- If the words and the images point to different looks, fix that before you generate.
- When AI decides the style for a story, it picks a look for that story only. It does not add a new style to your library.
Fix an unexpected result
- Check which style the video used, and whether AI was allowed to choose it.
- Open the saved style and check its phrase and its selected references.
- Remove anything that conflicts with the look you want, then generate again.
If the problem is the character's face or clothing, check the saved character. A style cannot replace a character reference. See Use universes and consistent characters. For script instructions, see the script guide.
