Turn on two-factor sign-in (2FA)
Add an authenticator app or a passkey, and sign in with it.
Reviewed
Two-factor sign-in (2FA) keeps your account safe if someone learns your password. When 2FA is on, each new sign-in also needs your authenticator app or one of your passkeys.
Turn on 2FA
- Open Settings and go to Security.
- Add one or both methods:
- Add authenticator app: scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the key by hand. Then type the 6-digit code from the app and select Verify.
- Add passkey: follow the prompt from your browser, phone or password manager.
2FA is on when the list shows at least one method.
Sign in with 2FA
- With a passkey: on the sign-in page, select the email field. When your browser or password manager offers your passkey, select it. A passkey sign-in counts as both steps.
- With a password or Google: after you sign in, the Two-factor sign-in page opens. Type the code from your authenticator app and select Verify, or select Use your passkey.
Change your email or password
When you have an authenticator app, LongStories asks for a code from it before it changes your email or your password.
Remove a method
In Settings > Security, select Remove next to the method and confirm. When you remove your last method, 2FA is off.
If you cannot use your methods
