Make one short video first. It is the fastest way to learn the tools before you build a longer story.
Open Video Story
- Open Video Story.
- Keep the default universe, or pick one from Universes. A universe holds settings such as the visual style and the narrator voice, so you can reuse them across videos.
- You do not need a new universe for each video.
Pick a starting point
- From an idea: describe what happens. Name the main character, the place, and what changes by the end. For example: a lighthouse keeper finds a lost boat and guides it home.
- From a script: select Add your script, then paste text or choose a saved script. If you use Adapt script, read the result before you use it.
- From audio: use a voice recording you already have.
- For a song, open Music Video.
See Start from an idea, script, or audio if you are not sure which to pick.
Set the look and the voices
- Select the characters you want. You can manage them on the Characters page.
- Check that the names in your script match the characters you selected.
- Choose a visual style if your universe lets you.
- For an idea, choose a Duration. Then choose an Animation preset: Mini, Fast, Pro, or Ultra. No animation makes still images only.
- Under Voiceover, choose who speaks: Auto, Narrator only, Narrator + characters, Characters only, or No voices. This choice is hidden when you upload audio, because the recording is the voice track. It is also hidden in a universe with voiceover turned off, because its videos have no voices.
- Check the video format and the caption settings.
See Choose a video length and preset before you decide.
Generate the video
- Check the input, universe, style, duration, animation preset, output size, and the cost shown.
- Select Generate Video.
- If the settings review opens, read the summary and select Confirm & Generate. Returning users can turn this review off, so it may not appear.
Review your Story Cards
After generation, the editor opens. Story Cards shows your video as cards. Each card has shots and speech.
- Open Shots, Script, and Voiceover to see what is in a card.
- Select Preview card to watch it.
- Check the words, the characters' look, and the action.
- If one image or motion needs work, change that shot only.
- Preview again before you export.
