Choose a video length and preset
Understand target length, speech timing, the presets, and the storyboard image choice.
Reviewed
The Duration you choose is a target, not an exact promise. The preset changes how the app plans the shots and which output sizes you can choose.
Choose a duration
- For an idea, the Duration menu goes from about 15 seconds to 15 minutes. The choices depend on your plan.
- Start short. One clear event with a beginning and an end is easier to review than a long story.
- For a script, the app shows an estimate based on the script.
- For uploaded audio, the recording sets the length. The duration menu does not shorten a recording.
Leave time for what happens on screen
- Speech, pauses, and silent actions all take time.
- The word count includes visual descriptions that are not spoken, so the estimate is approximate.
- Give each important action its own paragraph. Do not pack several actions into one moment.
- A scene can hold several shots, and a card can hold more than one shot.
Compare the presets
Mini, Fast, Pro, and Ultra all use the same script. They differ in how they plan shots and in the output sizes they offer.
- See the preset table for each preset's shot planning and output sizes.
- Choose by the story you want to make, then pick an available output size.
- The cost shown updates as you change your selection. Use it to decide whether to run a short test first.
- Songs and voice recordings use separate shots on every preset, because they follow the recording's timing.
- No animation gives you still images without motion. Pick Lite or Detailed images (see below) and check the cost before you confirm.
Choose the images for a storyboard
A storyboard makes one still image per scene. When you select No animation, pick how those images are made:
- Lite makes simple compositions. For flat styles and scenes with one or two characters, many people prefer it, and it costs less.
- Detailed handles scenes with several characters and objects, and keeps characters, objects and locations the same across most scenes. It makes fewer misses in busy scenes.
- Balanced (legacy) makes the images the way storyboards did before 16 September 2026. It shows only for accounts created before that date, and its price sits between the other two.
The price of each option shows next to it and updates with the length. Run a short Lite test first when you are not sure. With any choice you can animate any shot later from the editor.
Change the preset without losing your script
- Changing the preset does not rewrite your script. The app adapts the shot planning to the preset.
- On Ultra the app reads your
#### Shotheadings as hints and may join them into longer continuous shots. Switch on Keep my shot boundaries under the preset to keep every heading as its own shot. See the guide. - After generation, use Preview card in the editor to judge the pacing.
