• Scene 1 — Two Journeys Visual: Split screen. Left: a plane descending over Himalayan mountains. Right: a plane descending over a Mediterranean coastline. Same golden late-afternoon light on both sides. Camera: Slow push-in on both frames simultaneously, then a wipe transition merging them into one. Dialogue: None. Music: Soft acoustic guitar, gentle fade-in. Scene 2 — The Shuttle Mix-Up Visual: Airport shuttle interior, Mayalu already seated by the window. Shuttle stops at a Walmart parking lot; Nessu boards with luggage, looking slightly amused at the odd pickup spot. Camera: Medium shot from Mayalu’s POV as she sits across from him. Dialogue: • Mayalu: “I’m Mayalu.” • Nessu: “Sri.” • Mayalu: (smiling) “Sri… that’s a wonderful name.” Music: Continues, light and curious. Scene 3 — Pizza Night Visual: A dorm common room, string lights, pizza boxes on a table, a small crowd of new students mingling. Nessu and Mayalu are on opposite sides of the room — a brief glance passes between them, nothing more. Camera: Wide shot of the room, then a subtle focus pull isolating the two of them for one beat before cutting away. Dialogue: None — ambient chatter only. Music: Warm, low in the mix. Scene 4 — The Vending Machine Visual: Dim dorm hallway at night, the glow of a vending machine. Mayalu is getting an iced tea. Nessu appears in the doorway behind him. Camera: Close-up on the vending machine glow, then a turn as he notices her. Dialogue: • Nessu: “What are you doing here?” Music: A quieter, intimate acoustic riff begins — this is the “real start.” Scene 5 — Lobby Talks Visual: Dorm lobby at night, the two of them sitting close, talking. A montage of the same spot across different seasons — autumn leaves outside the window, then snow, then bare trees again — showing time passing. Camera: Slow dolly across the seasonal changes, always landing back on the same two people in the same spot. Dialogue: None (mumbled, inaudible conversation — just mood). Music: Builds gently, warmer. Scene 6 — Little Dates Visual (Part A): A cozy Mexican restaurant booth. A server gestures between them. Dialogue: • Server: “Girlfriend?” • Mayalu: “Un poco.” Visual (Part B): Cut to Olive Garden, the two of them leaning in, quietly gesturing toward another table, stifling laughter. Dialogue: Muffled, playful whispering — no clear lines needed. Music: Light, playful acoustic strumming. Scene 7 — Food Montage Visual: Quick joyful cuts — sharing ice cream cones, trying a new dish and reacting with surprise, chopsticks fumbling, a food truck, laughing with full mouths. Camera: Fast cuts, handheld energy, sun-drenched color grading. Dialogue: None. Music: Upbeat acoustic strum, still soft but energetic. Scene 8 — Pittsburgh Visual: An Airbnb, morning light through sheer curtains, the city skyline visible from a window. A quiet, still moment between them — foreheads close. Camera: Slow, intimate close-up. Dialogue: • Mayalu: (softly) “Un poco?” • Nessu: (smiling) “…completely.” Music: Swells softly, most emotional beat so far. Scene 9 — The Goodbye Visual: Airport departure gate. Nessu’s flight is boarding. Their hands separate as she walks toward the gate, looking back once. Camera: Wide shot, her figure growing smaller down the terminal. Dialogue: None. Music: Drops to a single, sparse guitar line — bittersweet. Scene 10 — Long Distance Visual: Split-screen video calls — his side dark (nighttime), her side bright (daytime), phone glow on both faces. Calendar pages turning in the background to show months passing. Camera: Static split-screen, subtle glow pulsing with each call. Dialogue: None (silent mouths moving, phone screens glowing). Music: Steady, a little melancholic but warm. Scene 11 — New York & Chicago (Travel Montage) Visual: Quick cuts — walking under NYC skyscrapers, a rooftop view, then Chicago’s riverwalk and skyline at dusk, holding hands through both cities. Camera: Wide establishing shots of each skyline, then handheld close shots of the two of them walking. Dialogue: None. Music: Builds back up, hopeful. Scene 12 — Reunions Visual: A sequence of airport arrivals across different seasons/outfits — each time ending in a running hug at the gate. Camera: Slow motion on each hug, quick cuts between the different reunions. Dialogue: None. Music: Full, warm swell — the emotional high point of the reunion arc. Scene 13 — Meeting Family Visual (Part A): Mayalu arriving in Tunisia, greeted warmly by Nessu’s family — a table full of food, laughter, hands passing dishes. Visual (Part B): Cut to Nessu meeting Mayalu’s family in a similarly warm setting. Camera: Wide shots of both gatherings, warm golden lighting throughout. Dialogue: None — ambient warmth, laughter. Music: Rich, full instrumentation, celebratory but still soft. Scene 14 — The Proposal Visual: A table with paperwork, rings, family gathered around. Hands signing, then rings exchanged. Everyone smiling. Camera: Close-up on the signing, then pull back to reveal the full room of family. Dialogue: None needed — expressions carry it. Music: Peaks emotionally here — fullest arrangement of the score. Scene 15 — Present Day Visual: Soft fade to a video call, both of them smiling at the screen. A small detail in the background hints it’s her birthday (a candle, a balloon, something subtle). Camera: Simple, warm close-up on both faces side by side (split screen). Dialogue: • Mayalu: “Still un poco?” • Nessu: (laughing) “Still all the way.” Music: Returns to the soft acoustic guitar from Scene 1 — full circle. Scene 16 — Title Card Visual: Fade to a simple, elegant title card. Text on screen: “Happy 30th, Nessu.” Music: Final gentle chord, fade out.
